Thirteen of them in full, off five different listings, exactly as they were written. Nothing here has been shortened, tidied or written by us, and every one has a name on it.

4.6/5from 1,432 reviews on Googleand 8,238 ratings in all, across five listings
The numbers

Five listings, five scores

Each site scores on its own scale and counts its own guests, so these are printed as they stand rather than averaged into one figure nobody published. Between them, 8,238 people have rated the hostel, and every card here opens the listing it came from.

In their words

Every word of them, and none of them ours

Thirteen reviews off five listings, printed whole. Where a review was cut off by the site it was read on, the quote stops at the last sentence that was fully visible. There are eight thousand more behind the five cards above.

The four and the 6.3 are here for the same reason as the tens. A page of nothing but top marks is not a page anybody believes.

I had the chance to volunteer at this hotel for 3 weeks, and honestly, it became one of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had.

Staff were friendly and I would highly recommend if you’re staying in KL and want an accom with an atmosphere (but not party orientated).

Had a great time here, the location was perfect to get to different places with the Bukit Bintang MRT so close by.

Location wise it was ideal – close to whatever you wanted to do and near public transit . The place was clean and service was pretty good overall . It is what you pay for but if you are a light sleeper this would not be the place for you as the walls are thin and noise resonates everywhere .

Overall, a decent place for a short stay. The location in Bukit Bintang is convenient, with plenty of food, shops and places to explore nearby. The room was simple but comfortable enough for a few nights.

If you are a woman, they will upgrade your booking to female only dorm and the female only dorm has its own space for women only

Very cool hostel in the heart of Bukit Bintang. The price is very fair, its clean, and the staff is lovely.

Really good hostel to stay at. Super central and has 24/7 reception. Beds are very comfy and it has a whole level for female only. I have stayed 3 times over the course of my travel. The only thing I would say is the rooms can be loud if staying near the front but they give you ear plugs.

公共空间很充足,老板也很友好,旅客也可以在公告区域聊天互相认识,非常棒的一次体验!

Location for this hostel is great; central and near the MRT. Staff were friendly and helpful.

For budget trip its suits the most . Middle of zebra cross of Bukit Bintang more specifically beside McDonald .

The pattern

What all four agree on

Four sites break their score into categories. All four put the location at the top of their own list, scoring it higher than anything else they measure.

Hostelworld9.8 / 10highest of its seven categories
Agoda9.5 / 10highest of its five
Booking.com9.5 / 10highest of its seven
Tripadvisor4.9 / 5highest of its six

Bukit Bintang is the reason. The monorail, the MRT, Jalan Alor and Pavilion are all inside a few minutes of the door, and guests on four different sites reached the same conclusion about it independently.

How this works

Nothing on this page was written by us

Every quote is a transcription from a listing the hostel does not control, printed in full. None has been shortened to its flattering half and none has been tidied up.

  • Each one carries a checksum taken when it was transcribed. Editing a guest’s words stops the build, on this page and on the homepage both.
  • Every review has a name on it. A testimonial without one is the shape a fabricated review takes, and the build rejects those too.
  • Nothing here is machine translated. Agoda’s two Japanese reviews are shown on Agoda already run through its own translation, and a translation is a rewrite, so Agoda contributes its score and no quote.
